Circulation Policy

BCTC and UK undergraduate students may check out books for four weeks (28 days), total checkout limit 10 items. Faculty/staff and graduate students may check out books for three months (90 days or until the end of term), total checkout limit 25 items. Audiovisual materials such as films may be checked out for two weeks (14 days) across all user categories. A valid student/employee ID or other picture ID is required to check out reserves, books, and audiovisuals.

Overdue Fines

The library does not charge overdue fines except for overdue interlibrary loans ($1 per day). Fines must be paid in full in the Business Office.

Library Delinquency

Any item overdue more than 14 days (3 days for technology loans) will be considered lost and the borrower will be declared delinquent for the price of the item plus the $10 processing fee. Borrower will be prevented from registering, graduating, and receiving transcripts in the case of a library delinquency.

Renewals and Returns

If you have checked out library materials and would like to renew them, please call or come to the circulation desk. One renewal is allowed. To return items, please bring them to the Circulation Desk at Newtown (CB 120) or Leestown (Building A, 108) campus.

Community Borrowers

If you are community borrower, you may check out books for four weeks (28 days) and AV items such as films for two weeks (14 days), with a limit of three items checked out at one time. The fines/fees schedule for community borrowers is the same as it is for other borrowers.
